Let’s face it: The past year has been quite stressful and challenging for most people throughout the world.
Many of us had to adapt to many limitations, with each person out there trying to do their part to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Spending more time inside at home took a toll on people who are looking for ways to stay healthy and in shape. Not being able to go to the gym or sometimes, even go out for a run can be incredibly stressful if you are used to an active lifestyle!
Gym-goers or people hiring personal trainers had to change their routines. All the recent COVID-19 Gym restrictions throughout the world have led to an explosion in virtual personal training. Since most people couldn’t do any individual sessions or hit their favorite gyms, they resorted to digital tools to stay active and in shape. Brands like Obe, Tonal, Peleton, and Nordic Track had an incredible boom that remains a safe and effective way to stay in shape.
Tools such as Facetime or Zoom are being used for remote sessions. Still, when it’s not possible or affordable to work with trainer, Youtube is also a good source. The only downside is that pre-recorded sessions available to anyone, don’t offer customized workouts, or accountability the trainer does. As one-on-one virtual personal training is becoming increasingly popular, many people are so happy with this convenient arrangement that they have continued their virtual training as gyms began to open worldwide. As a friend of mine that uses virtual training has stated “You can always bring your virtual trainer to your gym, the two are not mutually exclusive”.
